Gaza genocide raging

Israel waging its genocide in the Gaza Strip where dozens of Palestinians have been killed in the latest airstrikes on Khan Yunis. One of the targets was a school packed with displaced civilians. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said the regime forces have prevented ambulances from reaching the site. Also, Israeli tanks and military vehicles have cordoned off Nasser and Amal Hospitals in Khan Yunis. Sounds of gunfire and explosions are reportedly being heard in the area. Palestinian media say at least 20 civilians have been killed in the violence. Israel has recently shifted its focus from Gaza’s devastated north to the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis. Over three months of the regime’s relentless attacks on the coastal territory have killed more than 25,000 people, most of them women and children.

Netanyahu in hot water

Internal turmoil reaches a boiling point in Israel as public outcry against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intensifies over his disregard for the lives of scores of captives held in Gaza and his failure to secure their release. A group of the captives’ families has stormed the Knesset to call for action. Protesters shamed Netanyahu for standing idly by and turning a blind eye to the captives. The premier has been under fire for prioritizing his political interests in Gaza over the lives of the captives. This has cast a shadow on Netanyahu’s leadership, as thousands of Israelis have lost faith in his abilities. Meanwhile, the opposition labor party has submitted a no-confidence motion against the premier for his handling of the captives’ case. A Knesset meeting will be held soon to discuss the motion which accuses Netanyahu for failing to make necessary decisions to get the captives freed. A senior Hamas official has argued that Netanyahu is continuing the genocidal war in Gaza to evade his potential arrest for the crimes committed in the war-torn territory.

Iran-Pakistan relations

Tehran says the recent IRGC military action hitting a terrorist group in Pakistan was taken order to counter an imminent terrorist attack against Iran. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said in his weekly presser that relations between Tehran and Islamabad remain strong and this has been emphasized by officials from both sides. Naser Kan’ani added that terrorism is a common threat to both countries. The spokesman stressed that national security is a red line for Tehran. The Islamic Republic has released drone images of the Jaysh al-Adl terrorist bases in Pakistan that were hit on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign ministry says Tehran and Islamabad have agreed that their ambassadors return to their embassies by January 26. The Iranian foreign minister will also visit Pakistan three days later.
