Hundreds of people occupied the streets of Barcelona on Saturday, moving beds, armchairs, and other furniture to make a "home" in protest at the city’s housing crisis.
"We have three demands, which are: the immediate expropriation of all houses owned by banks and real estate funds, the 50 percent reduction of rental prices, and a stop to all evictions in the city," said spokesperson for "Trae to casa" (Bring your house).
"We are not leaving until they give us solutions for this housing crisis."
Housing became Barcelona residents’ main concern for the first time in the city’s Municipal Services Survey in 2018, as rental and housing prices kept rising throughout Spain.
