India has opened a new trade route with Afghanistan that bypasses Pakistan. New Delhi dispatched its first consignment of wheat to the war-torn country via the Iranian port of Chabahar. Direct trade with Kabul was hampered because rival Pakistan did not allow India to use its territory for that purpose.
