The Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement says the Hezbollah leaders’ massive funeral demonstrates the resistance’s strength and deepens the Israeli enemy’s existential crisis.
The resistance is not just a choice but a deeply rooted path in the consciousness of the nation’s people, Islamic Jihad said in a statement on Sunday, paying tribute to martyred Hezbollah leaders Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine
The Israeli regime's attempts to intimidate mourners through “empty displays” and repression failed, reflecting its desperation and moral bankruptcy, it said.
"The blood of the martyred leaders fuels the resistance’s determination, strengthening its will to achieve victory and liberation," the Islamic Jihad said.
"Martyr Nasrallah and fellow leaders consistently upheld the centrality of Al-Quds Jerusalem and rejected concessions on Palestinian rights," it added.
The resistance movement emphasized that the Lebanese people’s mass turnout reaffirmed unity with the resistance and commitment to continue the struggle until Palestine is fully liberated.
The new secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement pledged on Sunday that the group will remain steadfast and continue on his path.
Speaking at their funeral ceremony in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Sheikh Naim Qassem said, "Sayyed Nasrallah's contribution was great in reviving the Palestinian cause; we will preserve this trust and will continue to tread this path."
"We will continue Sayyed Nasrallah's path, even if we are all killed and even if our homes are destroyed over our heads," he added.
Israel assassinated long-time Hezbollah leader Nasrallah in an airstrike on southern Beirut on September 27, 2024.
The Israeli regime assassinated Safieddine, the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, in a similar bombing attack weeks later.
