Iran control of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Navy says two violating oil tankers, which were attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz through an unauthorized route, are now engulfed in intense flames after striking naval mines. The IRGC’s Navy said in its statement that one of the tankers struck mines east of the Strait, while the other was inside the strategic waterway. It noted that the two oil tankers had committed multiple violations and switched off their navigation and automatic positioning systems. The IRGC said both vessels were attempting to transit the Hormuz Strait through an unauthorized route, but struck mines, exploded, and are now burning. It warned that any ship that cooperates with the aggressive US military and violates Iran's rules of Hormuz transit by entering the prohibited zone will undoubtedly strike a mine. The IRGC advised all vessels not to pay attention to the fantasies and delusions promoted by the commander of the US Central Command.

US aggression against Iran

A new analytic report reveals that the United States’ aggression against Iran is the least popular of seven major wars that Washington has launched in the modern era. The report, which analyzed 153 public opinion surveys, also showed that the aggression against Iran had more opponents than supporters since its very beginning. According to the analysis, the aggression against Iran is even less popular than the Vietnam War. It added that at no point in time, those Americans who supported the aggression against Iran outnumbered those who opposed it. The report noted that calls for ending the aggression against Iran is now heard across party lines, and even Republican Senator Ted Cruz said a few days ago that the war had lasted too long and should end. Democratic lawmaker, Ted Lieu, has also pledged legislation to stop the aggression, while Abdul El-Sayed, who won Michigan’s Senate race in the midterms, has criticized its human and fuel-price costs. The report also cited an early November opinion poll, which said about 60 percent of Americans oppose the aggression against Iran. Another survey conducted in October, revealed that 65 percent of Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump's handling of military aggression against Iran.

Gaza humanitarian crisis

The United Nations’ humanitarian office has warned that the majority of Palestinians in Gaza live in dilapidated tents with little protection from rain and cold, as another severe winter sets in. The office said in its statement that the war-torn territory needs the immediate entry of winter supplies and heavy machinery, amid worsening humanitarian conditions caused by heavy rainfall. It added that most tents and shelters in Gaza have been flooded, exposing thousands of displaced people to immediate danger. The situation is further worsened by severe shortage of essential resources needed to address the consequences of severe weather conditions. The office noted that available stockpiles of humanitarian aid are insufficient to meet growing needs, amid the deteriorating conditions in Gaza’s shelters. It added that the heavy rainfall has flooded shelters, putting Palestinians living in flood-prone areas and damaged buildings at serious risk. The office said funding shortages and restrictions imposed by Israel for months have significantly hampered the humanitarian preparations needed to cope with the impact of the winter season.
