Iran 'combat-ready'
Iran’s armed forces have vowed that they will not back down in defending the country’s national interests and Iran’s territorial integrity. The General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya issued the statement, marking the Sacred Defense Week. They warned that Tehran will make the US, Israel and their allies experience further defeats. The statement said Iranian forces inflicted heavy damage on the military and security infrastructure and strategic interests of the US and Israel in West Asia, thereby changing regional security equations. Iran’s Army Chief, Major General Amir Hatami, has also issued a message for the occasion, saying the armed forces remain fully alert and ready to defend the country’s independence, security and territorial integrity. Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says the US has already been defeated in the war against the country.
Iran-Pakistan relations
Pakistan's Interior Minister is in Tehran on a two-day visit to discuss bilateral relations and the latest regional developments with senior Iranian officials. Mohsin Naqvi was received at the airport by his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni. The visit aims to discuss bilateral relations, exchange views, and review the implementation of agreements already signed. Naqvi's trip comes amid heightened regional tensions and follows his previous mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington. It also comes a day after Iran said it has conveyed its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz through mediators, stressing that the waterway will remain closed until its demands are met. Pakistan has continued to call for diplomacy, having previously helped broker an interim US-Iran agreement that later collapsed thanks to Washington’s violations.

CNN, Politico and MS now have announced their decision to legal action against the Trump administration after their reporters were barred from the White House and had their press credentials seized. In a joint statement, the three outlets said they are seeking to protect their First Amendment rights and prevent government interference in independent journalism. The move follows President Donald Trump’s increasingly confrontational treatment of news organizations. Trump has accused the three outlets of publishing “fiction or lies” about his administration. He's also described The New York Times and The Washington Post as “fake news.” Trump says other media organizations could also face similar action. The administration had already restricted Associated Press journalists’ access over its use of the phrase “Gulf of Mexico,” prompting a lawsuit that remains ongoing. The White House also took control of the presidential press pool earlier this year.
