US-UK aggression against Yemen
A senior Yemeni official has condemned US-British airstrikes on the country as a blatant aggression against an independent state. Ansarullah spokesman, Muhammad Abdul-Salam, said the US President Donald Trump's claims about Yemen’s threat to international navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait are false and misleading. He said the country’s naval operations in support of Gaza are limited to Israeli ships until humanitarian aid is delivered to the people of Gaza. Abdul-Salam noted that Yemen’s decision came after a four-day period of grace was given to ceasefire mediators. He affirmed that international navigation in the Red Sea faces no threat from Yemen. Abdul-Salam added that the US airstrikes represent a return to the militarization of the Red Sea, which is the real threat to international navigation in the region. Earlier, Mohammad Al-Bukhaiti, a member of Ansarullah’s political council, had warned that Yemen will respond to Washington’s unjustified escalation with escalation.
'US cannot dictate Iran policy'
Iran’s foreign minister says Washington has no authority to dictate the Iranian foreign policy after the US president urged Tehran to end its support for Yemen's Ansarullah movement. In a post on his X account, Abbas Araghchi noted that Iran’s 1979 Islamic revolution ended the era of the US interference in the country’s foreign policy decisions. On Saturday, the US President Donald Trump promised to hold Iran accountable for the actions of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement. Trump’s threats came as he ordered airstrikes on Yemen after the Arab nation announced it will resume anti-Israel naval operations until the regime stops its total blockade of the Gaza Strip. The Yemeni army has been conducting anti-Israeli operations since the beginning of Gaza genocide in October 2023. The attacks stopped following the Gaza ceasefire deal.
Genocide in Gaza
Israeli forces continue to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement, killing and injuring more civilians in their recent attacks across the besieged territory. In one of their latest strikes, the regime’s forces killed three Palestinians in Beit Lahiya, in northern Gaza. The fatalities included a 12-year-old boy, who was shot in the head. A woman was also injured in the attack. Two more civilians were killed and several others injured in a drone strike in central Gaza. Israeli gunfire and a drone strike injured nearly ten Palestinians in the southern city of Rafah. Earlier, nine Palestinians, including three journalists, were killed in an airstrike that targeted civilians in Beit Lahiya. The new fatalities bring the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire took effect in January to 150. Gaza’s health ministry says a dozen bodies were also recovered from the rubble. The death toll from the Israeli genocide now tops 48,500, with nearly 112,000 others injured.
