A new Gallup survey has found that support for Israel among Americans has hit the lowest in the past 25 years.

The survey, which was published by the Washington-based research and polling organization on Thursday, revealed that 46 percent of Americans are holding sympathies toward Israelis.

The figure showed a 5-point drop compared to the previous 51 percent low point recorded both last year and in 2001.

Conducted in February, the poll also found that the Americans' sympathy for the Palestinians stands at 33 percent, showing a six-point increase from last year and the highest level recorded in Gallup’s history.

Democrats have 59 percent support for Palestinians versus 21 percent support for Israel, while Republicans have 75 percent support for the occupying regime versus 10 percent support for Palestinians, according to the survey featuring 1,004 US adults.

It further found that 55 percent of Americans back the so-called two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, returning to 2020 levels that were the highest since 2003.

A record-high 76 percent of Democrats, 53 percent of independents, and 41 percent of Republicans support an independent Palestinian state, according to the poll.

It also found that 31 percent of Americans oppose the two-sate framework, the fewest Americans holding that position since 2009.

The latest numbers come more than a year after Israel unleashed a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

The Tel Aviv regime failed to achieve its declared objectives in Gaza despite killing at least 48,446 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Israel accepted Hamas’s longstanding negotiation terms under a three-phase Gaza ceasefire, which began on January 19.

Later, however, Israel disrupted the truce by refusing to move forward to its second stage.

Throughout the brutal Gaza onslaught, the US rushed billions of dollars in military aid to Israel.
