Jordanians rally en masse to censure Trump's Gaza takeover plan

Residents of the Jordanian capital of Amman hold a massive pro-Palestine rally following Friday prayers on February 28, 2025.

Jordanian protesters have once again taken to the streets of the Arab country to denounce the vicious scheme by US President Donald Trump to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

Following the Friday prayers, residents of the Jordanian capital of Amman held a large rally to express their opposition against Trump's plans to forcibly relocate the residents of the besieged Palestinian territory.

The Friday marches, which were organized by the Islamic Movement in Jordan, national forces and political parties, set off from in front of al-Husseini Mosque in the downtown area of Amman, arriving at al-Nakhil Square.

Similar rallies were held in other cities and various governorates across the Arab country as well

"Our cause is Palestine... and this homeland is very precious," demonstrators chanted.

"No to displacement... Your people, Gaza, are mighty... despite the pain and siege," they said in a reference to Trump's plan to empty Gaza of its inhabitants and force Egypt and Jordan to take them in.

The participants said Jordan is united behind supporting the steadfastness of Gaza with all forms of material and moral support.

They said the Jordanian people and the Jordanian state are united on one word: "No to the alternative homeland, no to displacement."

Some of the slogans denounced the US policy of supporting the Israeli occupation and genocidal campaign in the region.

"America is the head of the snake," they chanted. "Listen, Trump, and learn, learn from Gaza and understand, my people have never surrendered."

The participants emphasized the need to continue supporting the Palestinian steadfastness in the occupied West Bank and Gaza to confront all the conspiracies of the Zionist enemy targeting Jordan and Palestine, with American and Western support.

“The Gaza triumphs over occupation and genocide."

Israel accepted Hamas’ longstanding negotiation terms under the Gaza truce, which began on January 19.

The Tel Aviv regime failed to achieve its declared objectives despite killing at least 48,348 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in Gaza.

Trump has proposed displacing Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries.

The US special envoy to West Asia, Steve Witkoff, said on February 25 that a summit will soon be held with real estate developers and planners from the region to discuss the controversial plan for Gaza.

The US president unveiled the vicious scheme during a White House news conference in early February with the visiting Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israeli minister of military affairs Israel Katz has ordered the regime’s military to prepare a plan that would force the “voluntary departure” of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

Trump’s plan has already sparked international condemnation. It has faced resounding rejection among Palestinians, West Asian leaders, and governments around the world.

Palestinians have denounced the scheme as a “declaration of war.”
