US-Israeli genocide

Relentless Israeli onslaught continues to claim Palestinian lives in Gaza as the regime presses ahead with its air and artillery strikes across the besieged strip. At least four Palestinians were killed in a fresh bombing of the southern Gaza city of Rafah. Dozens were also injured after the occupation forces fired at the tents of displaced Palestinians there. To the north, Israeli warplanes targeted a house in the Jabalia refugee camp, killing a Palestinian and injuring several others. At least 60 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza during the last 24 hours, including 12 at a Gaza City school and nine others at a crowded market in Dayr al-Balah. The Israeli aggression which began in October has so far claimed the lives of nearly 40,200 Palestinians. Some 93,000 others have also been injured in the regime non-stop attacks.

Pro-Palestinian protest

Tensions are high as pro-Palestinian protesters take to the streets in Chicago where the Democratic National Convention is being held for the second day. The protesters gathered outside the Israeli consulate, chanting pro-Palestine slogans while waving Palestinian flags. Some also set American flags on fire to slam Washington’s military and financial support to Israel. Clashes broke out between police and protesters and several people were arrested. This wave of protests was initially prompted by the Democratic National Convention which is underway a few miles away from the Israeli consulate in Chicago. Thousands of demonstrators turned out on the first day of the event in a show of solidarity with the people in Gaza. A group called "March on the DNC" says some 100,000 protesters are expected during the four-day event.

Israel kills Fatah member

Israel has assassinated Khalil al-Mekdah, a member of the Palestinian Fatah Movement, in an airstrike on southern Lebanon. Al-Mekdah lost his life after an Israeli missile hit his vehicle in the city of Sidon. Tensions continue to rise in Lebanon’s south where two more civilians were martyred during Israeli strikes on Beit Leif and al-Wozani areas. In response, the Hezbollah resistance movement has fired dozens of rockets at Israeli positions in the occupied Palestinian territories and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Hezbollah says its operations are in support of the Palestinian cause and a direct response to the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which has intensified since the onset of the regime’s war on Gaza.
