US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
Nine months have passed since Israel began its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces have carried out fresh air and artillery strikes, claiming the lives of more Palestinians. Israeli warplanes bombed a school sheltering displaced civilians in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. The attack left at least 16 Palestinians dead and injured around 50 more, mostly women and children. Israeli airstrikes and artillery targeted several other areas in Gaza City as well, killing two more people. An Israeli airstrike hit a house in the center of Gaza, killing at least seven civilians and injuring many others. To the south, the regime’s airstrike targeted a vehicle in Rafah city, killing six civilians while also injuring two more. According to local authorities, the regime has killed at least 29 and injured around 1-hundred others in the past day. The war has so far claimed the lives of some 38,100 Palestinians and injured over 87,000.
Israeli war on media
Israeli forces have killed five Palestinian journalists during their recent attacks across the besieged Gaza Strip. The Israeli warplanes targeted a house in al-Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, killing three journalists. Within less than 12 hours, another house was also targeted in Gaza City, which killed two more journalists. These two attacks bring the total number of Palestinian journalists killed since the start of the war to 158. In a statement, the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, condemned the killings. It says the Israeli occupation is trying to hide the atrocities it has committed, and does so with no regard for the violation of international laws. The group has also called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to impose urgent measures and hold the regime accountable.
Rejecting Arab League claim
Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has categorically rejected claims made by the Arab League regarding Iran’s sovereignty over three islands south of the country. In a statement, Amir-Saeid Iravani condemned as false and baseless the claims made in a declaration by the Arab League, saying they are a flagrant and unjustified interference in Iran’s internal affairs. He added that the claim constitutes a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter. The Arab League member states repeated the claim that the Islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs belong to the UAE. Tehran has repeatedly rejected such claims, saying they have historically been part of Iran and will remain so.
