US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
More deaths and destruction in Gaza as the U-S-Israeli genocidal war is continuing to wreak havoc in the besieged strip. According to Gaza Health Ministry, Israel killed 28 Palestinians and injured 66 others in a 24-hour period. An airstrike targeted a school in Gaza City, killing 10 civilians, mostly women and children, and injuring several more. 9 Palestinians, including three children, were killed and several others were injured in the Maghazi and the Bureij camps in central Gaza. In the south, Israeli airstrikes killed 12 people and injured several others. Continued attacks and the imposed blockade on Gaza are taking a toll on the humanitarian condition of the Palestinian people. 3,500 children are on the verge of death due to malnutrition and lack of nutritional supplements. The death toll from the Israeli genocide in Gaza has risen to more than 37,600.
Onslaught on Gaza
The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas says Netanyahu’s remarks on the continuation of the Gaza war prove that he does not want a ceasefire or the return of captives. In a statement, the group said it remains ready for negotiations to reach a deal that stops the Israeli aggression. It added that the deal should also see the complete withdrawal of regime’s forces from Gaza, and a prisoner exchange. Hamas said it remains committed to reaching a permanent ceasefire that would see the return of the displaced to their homes. It warned that if Israel expands the war to Lebanon, it could spell the end of occupying Zionist regime. Hamas cautioned that the region will not see calm as Netanyahu incites war for political survival.
Iran 2015 deal
Iran says the US and EU are to blame for the current limbo status of the 2015 deal known as the JCPOA. Addressing a periodical UN Security Council meeting on the JCPOA, Iravani said the EU continues to grossly and systematically violate its obligations under the deal. He stressed that Iran scaled back its JCPOA commitments in response to the unlawful US withdrawal as well as the subsequent failure of the European signatories to honor their obligations. He said the Iran’s nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes and are conducted in full accordance with the country’s rights and obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iravani also dismissed Western allegations that Iran’s space and missile programs violate its commitments under the JCPOA. He said those programs are outside the scope and competence of the UN Security Council resolution enshrining the deal.
