US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

The Israeli regime continues its bloody onslaught on the Gaza Strip by carrying out more air and artillery strikes against the blockaded territory. In one of the latest strikes, nearly a dozen Palestinians were killed following a drone attack in Gaza City. In the south, an Israeli airstrike targeted a group of civilians on Salah al-Din road, east of Rafah, leaving 12 civilians dead and several others injured. Local sources say Israel has destroyed more than 70-percent of Rafah’s facilities and infrastructure. Israeli artillery fire also struck areas in Rafah, which has been a focal point of the regime’s attacks for the past several weeks. At least two Palestinians were killed in Israeli artillery shelling around Al-Alam Roundabout, west of Rafah. The Israeli genocide has so far claimed the lives of nearly 37,400 Palestinians, leaving over 85,400 others injured.

Israeli crimes in Gaza

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has hailed a recent UN report on Israeli crimes in Gaza. Hamas says the report confirms the regime’s atrocities are aimed at ethnically cleansing the Palestinian people and displacing them from their land. Hamas urged the international community, the UN, and all rights groups to stop Israel’s crimes against Palestinians. Hamas also called for global support for the International Court of Justice’s efforts to hold Israel accountable for its crimes in Gaza. The UN report was issued by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It said Israel has committed crimes against humanity, forced starvation, extermination, murder, and inhuman and cruel treatment of Palestinians. The report said Israel has killed and caused permanent disabilities to tens of thousands of Palestinian children in its ongoing aggression on Gaza.

Iran-Canada tensions

In another hostile move against Iran, Canada has declared the country’s anti-terror Islamic Revolution Guards Corps a terrorist organization. The announcement was made by the Canadian public safety minister, Dominic LeBlanc, who accused Iran of violating human rights and destabilizing international order. Iran's human rights chief slammed Canada’s decision as being against international law. Kazem Gharibabadi said it is ironic that Canada, as a major violator of human rights and supporter of terrorism, has put the IRGC on its so-called terror list. Last month, Canadian lawmakers voted for the decision. Back then, Iran strongly condemned the Canadian House’s decision as unwise, hostile, and contrary to international law. Tehran called the motion an attack on Iran's sovereignty and national security, adding that it reserves the right to respond by taking appropriate countermeasures.
