Israel Gaza onslaught
Israel keeps up heavy bombardment of targets throughout Gaza for the 16th consecutive day. In one of the latest attacks, at least 11 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured after missiles hit a cafe in Khan Younis. 15 others were killed in a separate attack on Rafah city in southern Gaza strip. The fresh raids in Gaza came after regime’s army said it would step up strikes ahead of what it called the next stages of the war. The Israeli army says it is trying to create optimal conditions for a ground invasion. The regime has issued new evacuation warnings for Gaza residents. The attacks on Gaza have killed nearly 4,700 Palestinians and wounded nearly 16,000 others so far. Over 70 percent of the victims are children, women, and the elderly.
Pro-Palestine rallies
Pro-Palestinian rallies have been held across the world to demand an end to the bloodshed in Gaza amid the regime’s brutal aggression against the besieged territory. In Brussels, thousands of people held a protest by gathering outside the EU commission and council’s headquarters. They chanted 'Free Palestine,' holding banners and waving Palestinian flags. In the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, hundreds took to the streets to slam Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. The protesters lit flares chanting “Free free Palestine". In Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, thousands of people took part in a pro-Palestinian rally near Independence Square. They waved banners and flags aloft as they chanted slogans in support of the Palestinians. Similar protests were held in France, Denmark, Poland, Mauritius and other parts of the globe.
US base under attack
The Ain al-Asad military airbase in Iraq's Anbar province which houses American forces has come under fresh attack. In a statement, an Iraqi resistance group claimed responsibility, saying that the airbase was successfully attacked by two unmanned drones. There have been no immediate reports of casualties. Anti-US sentiment has been growing in Iraq ever since the Israeli regime launched its onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7 with Washington's support. The airbase came under attacks on Saturday and Thursday as well.
