Among a number of lockdown restrictions eased, department stores and small-retailers have opened albeit with limited numbers of customers and multiple hand sanitizer stations. Still, footfall has left a lot to wish for.

The country’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged Britons to 'shop with confidence' and help the economy bounce back.

And so the long-awaited reopening is crucial for protecting thousands of retailers and hundreds of thousands of jobs. Famous brands have slashed their prices in a bid to lure shoppers.

COVID-19 may have changed shopper behavior forever. Businesses seem to have adapted to this new reality as well.

The novel coronavirus has taken some of the fun out of one of people’s most popular social activities and not everybody fancies waiting in line when they can buy what they want online.
