Heavy rain caused flooding along the eastern coast of Australia on Thursday, with New South Wales and Queensland seeing rivers and creeks overflowing, inundating roads and homes.
Once in the midst of drought, New South Wales Deputy Police Commissioner Gary Worboys warned there would be more rain over the coming days and told people to heed the warnings about floodwater.
A category-two cyclone, Cylone Uesi, is also traveling toward Lord Howe Island, 600 kilometers of the New South Wales coast, which will bring strong winds and further rain.
