The two-day negotiations in the Qatari capital to discuss how to remove sanctions on Iran have ended, with the two sides saying they will keep in touch "about the continuation of the route and the next stage of the talks".

The United States says it will resume talks with the Taliban next week in Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The Taliban say they will present a written peace proposal to the Afghan government as soon as next month even though they have gained the “upper hand on the battlefield” in recent weeks.

The much-awaited peace negotiations have been stalled following several rounds of talks last year.
