Foreign ministers of Iran, Ghana take part in joint press conference
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says Tehran attaches great significance to its relations with Africa as both sides share many common interests and challenges.
Zarif added that Iran has close cooperation with African countries in education, energy and agriculture sectors. He also noted that combating terrorism and extremism, which have afflicted countries in the Middle East region and also Africa, is a priority for Tehran. Iran’s top diplomat made the remarks to reporters following talks with his Ghanaian counterpart Hanna Tetteh in Tehran. Zarif said the president of Ghana is scheduled to visit Iran in the coming months. The Ghanaian foreign minister, for her part, described bilateral relations as close and deep, and called for the further strengthening of ties in all areas.
