Senior US intelligence official steps down from two administration roles: Report

Amaryllis Fox Kennedy

A high-ranking intelligence official in the Trump administration and ally of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, is reportedly stepping down this week from two senior government positions.

The Washington Post carried the reported on Wednesday, naming the official as Amaryllis Fox Kennedy.

Kennedy, who is also the daughter-in-law of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has held senior posts at both the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

She has said she hopes to retain her seat on a presidential intelligence advisory board, even as she exits her current administration roles.

Her departure adds to recent personnel changes within the senior ranks of US national security institutions.

Joe Kent resigned in March from his position as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, reportedly breaking with Trump over the US's unprovoked aggression against Iran.

Several high-ranking American military officials have also been dismissed by Pete Hegseth amid their reported disagreement with the US war secretary over the aggression.

In line with reports by American media outlets and official assessments, the aggression has strained the US's resources, not only in terms of military equipment, but also as far as the economic pressure resulting from Washington-provoked tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz are concerned.
