No one dares attack Iran as consequences ‘well-known’; ‘100% readiness’ reached: FM

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi speaks at a Red Crescent New Year's headquarters meeting, on March 24, 2025.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asserted that no foreign party would dare to commit aggression against Iran, emphasizing the nation's "comprehensive readiness" to confront any threats.

On Monday, Araghchi expressed confidence that even the thought of attacking the Islamic Republic did not cross the minds of adversaries due to their awareness of the consequences.

The top diplomat, who was addressing a gathering of senior Iranian relief officials in the capital Tehran, highlighted the complete preparedness of various sectors, saying the collective readiness had awarded the country with security.

He enumerated some of the sectors that enjoyed preparedness in the face of potential unwelcome scenarios as the Armed Forces, relief organizations, the government, and the populace.

"Our readiness grants us the power and capability that deters any aggression against our land," Araghchi stated.

Reiterating his earlier remarks to media outlets, the official affirmed his certainty that no war would occur involving the Islamic Republic, attributing it to the country's thorough heedfulness of likely adverse scenarios and its relevant vigilance and readiness.

He noted that without such readiness, conflicts could be imposed on the nation, underscoring that the preparedness encompassed both the Armed Forces and relief units.

Addressing Red Crescent personnel, Araghchi, meanwhile, acknowledged their unwavering commitment to performing their relief missions and wariness in the face of potential perilous situations.

The stance concerning the likelihood of military aggression against the country aligns with declarations from other Iranian officials.

Earlier this month, Major General Hossein Salami, chief commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), emphasized that while the Islamic Republic would not initiate conflict, it would respond decisively to any threats or acts of aggression.

"Iran will never be the initiator of war, but in the event of a threat, the response will be firm, decisive, and conclusive."

Numerous international observers and figures have likewise strongly discouraged attacking the country, while refuting the United States and its Western and regional allies’ efforts at justifying such self-defeating aggression by accusing the Islamic Republic of attempting to develop “nuclear weapons.”

On March 4, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, condemned threats of military action against Iran's nuclear facilities as "unacceptable," warning of catastrophic consequences. He also emphasized that such escalation would undermine diplomatic solutions and lead to severe regional repercussions.

Countering the Western accusations, he reminded that “Iran remains the most verified IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Member State, unlike the non-nuclear states that criticize it, in some of which, by the way, socio-political circles are openly discussing the issue of creating their own military nuclear program.”

Iran’s nuclear doctrine is based on Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's fatwa (religious decree) categorically banning production, possession, and stockpiling of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.
