Gaza ceasefire talks

The Israeli regime has sent its delegation to Doha for truce talks while continuing its aggressions and ceasefire violations in the Gaza Strip. Hamas had already sent a delegation to the Qatari capital days ago to discuss the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. The movement says it has dealt flexibly with mediators, including the US, Egypt and Qatar and hopes to proceed to stage two of the previously agreed deal. Hamas has condemned Israel’s move to block Gaza crossings, and speaking of restarting the war as failed options. It stressed that the release of Israeli captives is possible through negotiations only. The Israeli regime continues to violate the ceasefire agreement, killing and injuring more Palestinian civilians. At least two Palestinians have been killed and several others injured in an Israeli drone strike in central Gaza. Since the ceasefire was put into effect in January, the regime has killed over a 100 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

‘Condemning Syria massacre’

Iran’s foreign ministry condemns deadly violence against members of Syria’s Alawite community, calling for international action to stop the massacre. Esmail Baghaei said in his weekly presser that the incidents of insecurity are a test for the rulers of Syria to fulfill their responsibility and protect the people of the country. The spokesman noted that such incidents also further complicate the security situation in the Arab country. He warned this pushes Syria towards exploitation by parties that do not wish well for the region. Baghaei further called for a halt in the acts of violence and urged countries with influence in Syria to fulfill their relevant responsibilities.

Anti-Netanyahu protest

Israeli protesters have gathered outside the district court in Tel Aviv, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took stand again over corruption charges. The protesters want the corrupt prime minister out of office. The protesters slammed Netanyahu for dragging the war in order to stay in office. They called for a prime minister that cares for the people. Netanyahu is being prosecuted on charges of fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in three separate cases. His trial began in May 2020. He is the first Israeli sitting leader to take the stand as a criminal defendant.
