US-Israeli genocide

Israeli attacks claim the lives of dozens of Palestinians in Gaza where the regime’s military campaign continues unabated. Nine Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombardment in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Five others also lost their lives in a separate airstrike on the southern city of Khan Yunis. There have been more fatalities as a result of fresh attacks on other parts of the besieged strip. Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, widely condemned as genocide, is now in its 11 months. More than 40,600 people have been killed in total since early October. Tens of thousands of others have been wounded so far.

Resistance resilent

Palestinian resistance fighters continue to confront invading Israeli military forces in various cities and towns across the occupied West Bank. Intense fighting has been reported between Palestinians and the Israeli regime forces in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin where at least one Israeli soldier was injured in an ambush. Also two similar operations targeted armed Israeli settlers in Al-Quds and Al-Khalil injuring three settlers, one of them a high-ranking army commander. For four consecutive days, Israeli forces have used bulldozers and tanks to demolish Palestinian houses and structures. Since Wednesday, Israel launched a large-scale military operation across the occupied West Bank. The regime forces have killed over 6-hundred-70 Palestinians in the West Bank since last October when Israel unleashes its genocidal war on Gaza.

Deepening division

Divisions are growing among Israeli cabinet members over a major sticking point in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations. Media reports say Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant have quarreled over Israel’s presence on a corridor along Gaza-Egypt border. During a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Gallant rebuked Netanyahu for putting the issue of the Philadelphi Corridor before the lives of Israeli captives in Gaza. Gallant accused the premier of imposing his own will on the cabinet, and sarcastically said that Netanyahu can decide to kill all the captives. The comments prompted an angry response from Netanyahu. The Prime Minister then demanded an immediate vote on the issue of the Corridor. The cabinet voted in favor of maintaining the Israeli military’s presence there. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has voiced opposition to any deal that allows for the regime to retain the control of the corridor. The Palestinian resistance says Israel must withdraw from all Gaza territory after any ceasefire deal.
