US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Touching on the ongoing Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, where the regime’s bombing campaign continues with no end in sight across the Palestinian territory. In the North, at least 10 Palestinians were killed during Israel's bombing of two residential buildings in Gaza city. In central Gaza, six civilians lost their lives and several others injured in an attack on el-Bureij refugee camp. Israeli snipers fatally shot a young man in southern city of Khan Yunis, while in nearby Rafah, Israeli drones hit a residential area, killing two Palestinians. In a matter of 24 hours, at least 84 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across the besieged territory. The ongoing Israeli genocide has left more than 39,000 dead and over 90,000 others wounded since October last year.
Gaza displacements
The displaced Palestinians in the Gaza strip are lamenting the lack of safe havens as the entire region becomes a perilous zone with nowhere to go. As a reaction to the recent Israeli evacuation order for civilians in eastern Khan Yunis, the UN says around 150,000 people were displaced from the southern Gaza city in just one day following Israel’s evacuation orders.
Israel nuclear weapons program
Tehran says Israel’s nuclear weapons are the biggest threat to Peace and security in West Asia and the world. Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the UN office in Geneva made the remark in a UN Review conference on the treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Ali Bahraini said the growing Israeli threat arises from double standards by the US and the West in supporting the regime’s nuclear arms program. He also slammed Washington’s unilateralism as the main obstacle to the full implementation of the Nonproliferation Treaty or the NPT, which threatens the future of the treaty and its ultimate goal of creating a world free of nuclear arms. Bahraini emphasized the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, adding that Tehran was committed to the NPT goals.
