US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

The Israeli regime continues its military campaign against Gaza, resulting in a devastating loss of Palestinian life and widespread destruction in the besieged strip. As result of attacks in the southern city of Rafah, a child was killed and 2 others were seriously injured. Also in and around Khan Yunis, 8 Palestinians, including 3 children, were killed. The Palestine Red Crescent Society says two medical clinics in the east of the city are now out of service after Israeli airstrikes, which killed at least 77 Palestinians. And in the central city of Deir-al-Balah, the 163rd journalist was killed since October 7. The US-Israeli genocidal war in Gaza has killed over 39,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. Nearly 90,000 have also been injured.

Children plight in West Bank

Children have been one of the main victims of the Israeli genocide in Gaza where more than 14,000 of them have been massacred since October. Now the UN agency, UNICEF, says there has also been a drastic rise in the Israeli killing of children in the West Bank during the same period. UNICEF says 143 children have been killed in the occupied Palestinian territory. That marks a spike of nearly 250-percent compared to the nine months prior to the genocidal war in Gaza. More than 440 children have also been injured by live ammunition across the West Bank. UNICEF says this is a result of "unnecessary and excessive use of force against the most vulnerable". Earlier this year, the UN added Israel’s military to a global list of offenders that have committed violations against children.

Call for Israel Olympics ban

Palestine has called on the International Olympic Committee to ban Israel from the Summer Games over the genocide in Gaza. The Palestine Olympic Committee said the Israeli bombings of the besieged strip are a breach of the ancient tradition of truce during the Games. It said Israeli forces have killed around 400 Palestinian athletes in Gaza and destroyed sports facilities there. There have been growing calls internationally for the boycott of Israel from the Olympics. One of those critical of the regime’s participation in the games is French lawmaker Thomas Portes. During a pro-Palestine rally, he urged mobilization against the Israeli presence. French organizers have stepped up security in Paris where the Israeli delegation will be subject to strict security protocols.
