Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) has condemned Washington’s continued support for Israel.
“The US administration, under President Joe Biden, has caused a humanitarian catastrophe for Palestinians through its involvement in genocide and its provision of internationally banned weapons to the occupation,” it said in a statement on Monday.
It also called on the world to denounce the “American brutal behavior towards the Palestinian people.”
The international community, it said, should “take a principled and public stance against the US and its serious transgressions in arming the Israeli occupation.”
The Biden administration is reportedly set to resume shipping heavy bombs to Israel. Washington would soon resume shipping 500-pound bombs to Israel despite concerns about their use in the densely populated city of Rafah in southern Gaza.
The US military assistance to Israel has accelerated since October.
Over the nine years leading up to 2022, 68 percent of Israel’s weapons were provided by the United States.
Israel continues its barbarous campaign in Gaza.
In one of the latest attacks, at least five Palestinians, including children, were killed in Israeli bombing of an area in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
The regime also blew up a number of buildings in the southern city of Rafah.
Meanwhile, prevention of aid access by the regime continues to take its toll on Gaza.
Israel has killed over 38,600 Palestinians in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
