US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israel continues to rain down bombs and shells on Gaza, killing over a dozen civilians in its latest strikes on the besieged territory. Nine Palestinians, including children, lost their lives after Israeli warplanes struck two houses in the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Three other civilians were killed in an air raid on a neighborhood in northern Gaza City. Israel’s fresh strikes also took the lives of several other Palestinians. In a matter of 24 hours, 41 Palestinians have been killed and over 100 others injured. The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza has topped 37,300, most of them women and children. The total number of fatalities is believed to be much higher as thousands are trapped under the rubble of bombed-out buildings. The humanitarian situation is also catastrophic in the blockaded strip. Food, water and other basic needs are all gone.

Children plight in Gaza

A spokesman for the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, has described the Israeli bloodshed in Gaza as a war on children, urging the international community to act now as hope is slowly ebbing out of the Palestinian territory. James Elder recounted painful stories of children who have lost their families and homes and are suffering from malnutrition and psychological trauma. While highlighting the ordeals, he said the Israeli killing and destruction will not bring peace to the children or the region. The UN official stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire to save the lives of children and provide them with healthcare and education. The remarks came as Israel’s incessant bombings and shellings have destroyed critical facilities in Gaza. The regime’s restrictions on aid are also worsening the already dire situation. A recent UN report suggests that 50,000 children are suffering from malnutrition while at least 23 others have starved to death.

Yemen retaliatory operations

The Yemeni armed forces have carried out fresh operations in and around the Red Sea in response to Western aggression against the Arab country and in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. In a statement, Yemen’s Armed Forces said they launched a number of ballistic missiles on an American destroyer in the Red Sea. Also there, a ship called Captain Paris was targeted with naval missiles. The Yemeni military also fired a number of drones at a ship named Happy Condor in the Arabian Sea. According to the statement, the three operations achieved their goals. Yemen says the targeted ships had violated a ban on vessels bound for the ports in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Yemeni Armed Forces vowed that they will continue their retaliatory operations as long as the US and the UK conduct airstrikes on the Arab country and Israel keeps committing genocide in Gaza.
