US-Israeli Gaza genocide

More than 50 people are killed as Israeli warplanes bomb the displaced Palestinians taking refuge in tents and camps in the southern Gaza city of Rafah. This, being one of the zones Israel has declared as safe. The Palestinian Red Crescent expects the death toll to rise given the large number of the injured being sent to partially-functioning hospitals. Many of the wounded are women and children. The attacks hit the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood in western Rafah that's hosting thousands of people who have fled the eastern parts of the city since two weeks ago. Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, have strongly condemned the Israeli onslaught. In separate statements, they held the US President and his administration directly responsible for the Israeli regime’s crimes. More than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its onslaught in Gaza on October 7.

Outrage at Rafah carnage

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman has decried a deadly Israeli airstrike on a tented camp housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah, saying it is a clear example of war crime. In a social media post, Nasser Kana’ani called for international condemnation and practical response to the Israeli crime which he said is a blatant violation of the International Court of Justice’s orders. He added the child-killing Zionist entity commits insane war crimes against Palestinians whenever it suffers humiliating defeats on the ground. Meantime, the Turkish president has denounced the attack, saying the Israeli premier is trying to extend his political life by shedding more blood. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has also denounced the attack in the strongest terms, urging Israel to halt its massacres immediately. Meantime, the Spanish foreign minister condemned the airstrike, calling for an end to the Israeli aggression in Rafah. French President Emmanuel Macron has also expressed outrage. The UAE and Qatar have condemned the assault, with Qatar warning that such strikes could impede negotiations toward truce and the release of captives. UK’s Labor Party leader Keir Starmer has also expressed shock at what he described as horrifying scenes of killing of women and children where it had already been declared a safe zone by Israel.
