Israel field execution
A mass grave of 30 civilians has been found in the northern Gaza Strip. Israel is under fire for carrying out field executions. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry says the bodies were blindfolded with their hands bound. The ministry has called for the formation of an international field investigation team to probe Israel’s genocide as well as the condition of missing or detained Palestinians. The discovery comes a day after 100 Palestinian bodies, exhumed and stolen by Israeli forces from various areas in the Gaza Strip, were returned. Medical sources say the regime has stolen organs from some of the bodies.
Looming catastrophe
The United Nations warns that defunding the UN agency for Palestinian refugees risks a “catastrophic” humanitarian collapse in Gaza. 15 countries, including major donors such as the United States, Germany, Britain and Sweden, have suspended funding to UNRWA over accusations that several of its staff members were involved in the October 7 Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by Hamas. UNRWA rejects the accusation, saying it is extremely important to have an independent investigation into specific individual cases Israel has raised.
Europe farmer protests
The European Union has proposed new measures in a bid to quell farmers’ protests in France and other EU members. The European Commission says it will extend curbs on Ukraine’s agricultural imports for another year as part of the new measures. Europe is grappling with continent-wide protests over rising costs, its environmental policies, and cheap food imports, especially from Ukraine.
