Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Palestinian resistance movement, has said they destroyed two dozen Israeli combat vehicles in the past two days as the apartheid Israeli entity continues its genocidal onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

The Al-Qassam Brigades’ military spokesperson Abu Obaida stated in an audio message on Saturday that 24 enemy vehicles and tanks were destroyed in the past 48 hours.

“We’ve successfully destroyed 24 enemy vehicles, including tanks and other military equipment over the past 48 hours,” Abu Obaida said.

“Our mujahedeen [fighters] are engaged in frontline combat against the enemy in the northwest and south of Gaza,” he added.

Abu Ubaida also stated that the “Al-Qassam Brigades’ snipers effectively engage soldiers who have taken shelter in residential buildings or those attempting to expose themselves from their fortified positions.”

He also said the people of Gaza are facing a deliberate extermination campaign by an adversary immune to consequences in a world characterized by lawlessness.

Israel has been bombing Gaza since October 7, when the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movements launched Operation al-Aqsa Storm; their biggest operation against the Zionist occupant group in years in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes and decades-long atrocities against the Palestinians.

In the operation, the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups captured around 250 Israeli soldiers and settlers.

Abu Ubaida said more than 60 Israeli captives who were being kept in custody by the fighters in the Gaza Strip had lost their lives in the Israeli regime’s incessant airstrikes against the blockaded territory.

“Since October 7 until now, the barbaric Zionist [regime’s] bombing of Gaza has caused the loss of more than 60 enemy captives in Gaza,” he said.

The spokesman added that the bodies of 23 captives are trapped under the rubble of the buildings and structures that have been destroyed by the Israeli strikes.

“It seems that we will never be able to reach them due to the continued brutal aggression of the occupation against Gaza,” he added.

Abu Ubaida said before 60 of them were killed in the Israeli attacks, 200 of the captives had been held by al-Qassam Brigades’ fighters while the rest were being kept by the other Palestinian resistance factions.

The death toll from the Israelis month-long attacks on Gaza reached on Saturday to 9,488 Palestinians, including nearly 3,900 children and 2,509 women. Over 24,160 Palestinians have also been wounded.

The massive scale of the Israeli atrocities has prompted analysts to compare the Gaza genocide to the Hiroshima atomic bombing in 1945 and the Bosnia massacre in the early 1990s.

The apartheid regime forces' genocide of the Palestinians trapped in the blockaded Gaza is taking place despite widespread outrage and a multitude of calls for a humanitarian ceasefire in the occupied lands by the international community led by the United Nations.

Last Saturday, UN chief Antonio Guterres called for a “humanitarian ceasefire” in the Israeli war on Gaza that has destroyed much of the territory, demanding “action to end this godawful nightmare.”

The Israeli entity has also cut off the supply of water, food, medicine, and electricity to the besieged Palestinian territory.
