The Miami Heat have cemented their place at the top of the Eastern Conference after upsetting the Brooklyn Nets 113-107 at the Barclays Center.
The Nets started strong as they took the 1st quarter with a 12-point margin at 35-23. But the Heat took the next quarter by 5 points, as the hosts went to their locker room with a 67-60 advantage. The Heat then remained consistent after the break, taking a 6-point lead by beating the nets 28-17 in the 3rd quarter, before grabbing the final 25-23 to register their 6-point overall win and the 42nd victory of the season. Miami will welcome the High-flying Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday which is a clash at the top of the Eastern Conference, whereas the Nets will travel to Boston to line up against the Celtics.
Meanwhile. The Celtics topped the Memphis Grizzlies 120-107 at home. The Hosts took the opener 26-20, and despite their 4-point loss in the next quarter, they took a 47-45 lead at the intermission. The Celtics then surged after the break and managed to win the next 2 quarters that led to their 13-point win at the end. Jayson Tatum pocketed 37 points for Boston, while Ja Morant collected 38 points for Memphis in the losing effort.
