In the Africa Cup of Nations, host country Cameroon have posted a 2-1 win over 10-man Comoros to progress into the quarterfinals.
Comoros who had 12 of their squad ruled out with Covid-19, received a further blow after just 7 minutes in, when their captain was sent off following a VAR review.
Cameroon then capitalized on their numerical advantage to open the scoring on the half-hour mark when Karl Toko Ekambi lashed into the far corner.
The Indomitable Lions added a second in the 70th minute through a close-range calm-finish by Vincent Aboubakar.
Youssouf M’Changama, however, gave Comoros hope against all odds with a stunning free kick from 30 yards, but 5-time champions held on for the win.
Cameroon will now face Gambia in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
