Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Israel’s Attorney General Avichai indicted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, after three years of investigations.

He was indicted on these charges in separate cases. The Israeli premier has been accused of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in luxury gifts. He’s also charged with trading favors with media and telecommunication companies for positive news coverage.

In the most serious case, known as Case 4000, Netanyahu is accused of making controversial decisions which benefited his friend Shaul Elovitch.

He is the owner of one of the largest private holding groups in Israel, Eurocom Group, and largest Israeli telecommunications company Bezeq. In return, Elovitch ordered the Walla News website to provide considerably favorable coverage of Netanyahu and his wife.
