Saudi war on Yemen has devastating impact

With humanitarian situation reaching alarming levels due to Saudi Arabia’s brutal war on Yemen, the country’s ministry of health has revealed shocking figures about the number of children who die due to the kingdom’s airstrikes and its crippling blockade.

Yemen also says at least 320-thousand patients need to travel outside Yemen to receive medical attention. Nearly 43 thousand patients have lost their lives just over the past months.

A recent report by UNICEF also says over 12 million children in Yemen, nearly every child are in need of urgent assistance. The report by the UN’s children agency says Yemen is one of the worst places to be a child in the world. UNICEF says only peace can bring an end to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia and its allies have been bombing Yemen since March 2015. The situation in Yemen is described by the UN as the world's number one humanitarian crisis with nearly 20 million people in dire need of food and medication in the country.

The UN envoy claims Riyadh's attacks on Yemen has declined by 80 percent but observers say Saudi Arabia is trying to buy more time after its heavy military losses.
