AC Milan have moved into the top half of the Serie A, after edging past struggling Spal 1-nil at the San Siro.
The hosts had the better chances in the 1st half and should have taken the lead in the 13th minute, but their Spanish forward Castillejo rattled the crossbar from close range.
Spal held-on until the 63rd minute when Suso who had come off the bench 6 minutes earlier found the net for Milan with a stunning free-kick on the edge of the area after Krzysztof Piatek was brought down.
The single goal proved to be the winner for Milan who are now 10th in the standings with 13 points from 10 games while Spal remain 2nd-bottom with only 7 points.
