Canada’s rising star, Denis Shapovalov, has started the Italian Open campaign on a high note, after defeating Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain in straight sets.
The 20-year-old Canadian dominated in the first set and easily finished it 6-3.
The Spaniard showed some resilience in the second set, but Shapovalov managed to end it 7-6 in more than 90 minutes.
The young Canadian has now set up a second-round clash with world number one, Novak Djokovic.
