Blasting Netanyahu Oman visit  

Palestinian groups have condemned the Israeli prime minister’s visit to Oman and urged Arab countries to support the oppressed people of Palestine. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas warned about the dangerous consequences of Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Oman for the people of Palestine. The Islamic Jihad movement also censured the visit, saying Oman acquitted Netanyahu of the crimes committed against innocent Palestinians by welcoming him to the country. Netanyahu visited Oman on October 26, but his office announced the news after he returned home. The Israeli premier held talks with Oman’s leader Sultan Qaboos. The rare visit came days after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Sultan Qaboos during a 3-day visit to Oman.

Saudi rejects extradition demand

Saudi Arabia says it will NOT extradite suspects detained in connection with the murder of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The Saudi foreign minister was speaking at a security conference in Bahrain. He made the comments in response to a question that whether Saudi Arabia would heed Turkey’s call for the extradition of the 18 suspects. Also in his remarks, Jubeir distanced the Saudi leadership from any involvement in Khashoggi’s murder. He downplayed the media coverage of the killing, saying an investigation is still underway.

Palestinians funerals

Palestinians mourn the deaths of four young men killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Funeral processions were held for 19-year-old Nassar Abou Taim, 23-year-old Ziad Aghl and 22-year-old Ahmed Abou Labdeh in Khank Yunis in southern Gaza strip. The victims were among the five protesters shot dead in the latest demo from the Great Return March weekly protests. Nearly 100 people were also wounded in the Israeli crackdown. Another funeral was held in Ramallah for a Palestinian man who was killed during clashes with Israeli forces on Friday. The 33-year-old victim called Othman Ladadwa was shot in the back. Nine others also sustained injuries in Ramallah clashes and one of them is in critical condition.

Rome decline protest

People of Rome stage a demonstration denouncing what they call mismanagement on the part of the Italian capital’s young mayor. The protesters called for the immediate resignation of Virginia Raggi, saying she is responsible for Rome’s pitiful transport service and woeful garbage collection. They said the young mayor is incapable of managing a city like Rome.

Arba’een march

Millions of pilgrims from across the world are converging on the Iraqi city of Karbala to commemorate the Day of Arba’een. The occasion marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam.
