Almost 50 people have joined an annual elephant polo charity tournament with the aim of raising funds to help domesticated elephants in Thailand.

Mahouts handled the elephants while the players tried to strike the ball with a metal mallet. Many of the players have said playing the game on the mammoth animals was a “different experience” to a horse.
