Trump making compromises to ingratiate himself with Deep State: Analyst

US President Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump is constantly making compromises to ingratiate himself with the Deep State, which wants "a state of perpetual warfare," according to E. Michael Jones, an American political analyst in Indiana.

Jones, a writer, former professor, media commentator and the current editor of the Culture Wars magazine, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Saturday, after Trump accused Iran of violating "the spirit" of the 2015 international nuclear deal.

"The Iran deal is one of the worst deals I've ever seen, certainly at a minimum the spirit of the deal is atrociously kept," Trump said on Thursday, after the US Treasury Department announced economic sanctions on 11 individuals and companies in Iran.

“First question. Why is Donald Trump against the Iran nuclear agreement? The answer to that is he is from New York. The Jews control New York City. You can’t go anywhere in the real estate business in New York City unless you go along with what they want. And this is basically the basis of his foreign policy,” Jones said.

“He has no philosophical basis to do anything to analyze the policy to come up with some type of an alternative to the neocon catastrophe that has created the foreign policy ever since the invasion of Iraq in 2003,” he stated.

“He just doesn’t have the resources. He’s drawing on his experience as a real estate dealer in New York City,” the analyst said.

“He also has limited political powers. He was elected, but he has very little political powers. He is forever making compromises of the sort that he thinks would ingratiate himself with the Deep State,” he noted.

“This is of course a big mistake. They are determined to maintain the status quo, which means a state of perpetual warfare, because their existence depends upon them. The main focus at this point is Russia,” the commentator said.

The term Deep State, or derin devlet in Turkish, originated in 1950s Turkey and refers to a secretive network of influential members of government agencies or the military operating outside the democratic system.

Former US Congressman Ron Paul said in a recent interview that Trump has been consistent in his animosity toward Iran and especially the Iran deal.

Dr. Paul, a three-time American presidential candidate, said that the neocons hated the 2015 nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) “and they wanted to undo it, which seems to be pretty impractical.”
