Seoul seeks military dialogue amid Pyongyang's silence

South Korea's Defense Ministry has called on North Korea to respond to its recent offer of dialogue to reduce military tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Seoul's push for engagement with Pyongyang however remains complicated by continued US pressure. The CIA chief has suggested that sanctions can forestall the North’s nuclear and missile programs.
