Matt Florence, an activist, says the United States is using the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group as a “justification” for intervention in Syria.

Florence told Press TV in an interview on Sunday that Washington’s goal “all along” has been to topple the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The United States' goal of trying to topple the Syrian government "has not changed," he said. "It is the same as it was under Obama," he added, referring to the former US president, Barack Obama.

Washington is after turning Syria into the "same kind of failed state that they turned Libya and Iraq into," Florence said.
