Iranian female wushu practitioners have collected two more medals in the first edition of Taolu World Cup in China, raising the Islamic Republic’s medal count at the international competitions.
On Sunday, Haniyeh Rajabi tested her martial art skills and maneuvers in the Daoshu form of the tournament in the southeastern Chinese city of Fuzhou, and scored 9.41 points to sit in the third slot and pick up the bronze medal.
A Russian competitor grabbed silver with 9.50 points and stood behind a wushu artist from Hong Kong, who tallied 9.61 points to be awarded the gold medal.
Zahra Kiani competed in the Changquan contests on Saturday evening, and accumulated 9.57 points to clinch the vice champion title.
A participant from Hong Kong racked up 9.62 points and won the gold, while a contender from Macau gained 9.50 points to get the bronze medal.
Changquan refers to a family of external martial arts styles from northern China. The forms of the Long Fist style emphasize fully extended kicks and striking techniques, and by appearance would be considered a long-range fighting system.
The first edition of Taolu World Cup started in Fuzhou, China, on November 15 and will finish on November 20, 2016.
