Blair battered by Chilcot verdict

The long-awaited report on Britain’s role in the 2003 invasion of Iraq was finally released on Wednesday amid a growing chorus of calls for then British prime minister Tony Blair to be punished for dragging the UK into the notorious, unpopular war. The so-called Chilcot report battered Blair for the UK failures in Iraq, accusing him of joining the invasion based on false intelligence.

Netanyahu in Africa

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is touring Africa. This is the first visit by an Israeli premier to sub-Saharan Africa in 30 years. Top on his agenda: developing ties with African nations. “There are 50 countries in Africa. Just about all of them could be allies of Israel.” It is also seen as a way to ramp up allies at the UN in instances where there are votes that Israel needs.

Clinton, Trump controversies

The email controversy is only one of the scandals that are haunting Clinton in her dreams to become the next US president. Others include a notorious White House staff sexual harassment by her husband Bill Clinton, the case with the Clinton Foundation, a series of alleged cases of financial misconduct involving overseas interests. And most importantly, the Benghazi incident that resulted in the death of US ambassador to Libya together with several others.
