FIFA hears Sepp Blatter's appeal against ban

Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter arrives in FIFA’s headquarters in Zurik for an appeal hearing against ban.

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter has arrived at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich, for an appeal hearing relating to his 8-year-ban from all football related activity.

Blatter arrived 90 minutes early for the scheduled start of his hearing with the FIFA appeal committee, and managed to dodge the reporters assembling outside.

Blatter's case is expected to last as long as Platini's eight-hour-session on Monday, with the four-man committee to appeal a similar ban.

Blatter and suspended UEFA president Michel Platini were given the bans by FIFA'S ethics committee in December, in relation to a payment of 2 million Swiss francs from FIFA to Platini back in February 2011, which was authorized by Blatter.
