Iran FM says Tehran ready to form joint anti-terrorism front
The Iranian foreign minister says Tehran is ready to form a joint front against terrorism and extremism in the region.
Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remark during a meeting with visiting Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri. The Iranian official stressed that Tehran backs Baghdad’s domestic and regional policies and is hopeful the country would soon find its key role in the region. Zarif expressed hope that Iraqi officials engage all political parties in a meaningful process and resolve internal problems through dialog. For his part, the Iraqi official hailed the conclusion of Iran’s nuclear talks with the P5+1 group of countries. Jabouri called on the Iranian officials to continue supporting Iraq in the face of its fight against terrorism and extremism.
