Press TV has interviewed Nick Napiers, with the Palestinian Solidarity Movement Scotland from London, to ask for his take on the significance of this year’s International Quds Day.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Western media try to demonize International Quds Day rallies as something anti-Semitic or hatemongering, why do they say that?

Napiers: I say the most anti-Semitic people that I have ever met is Netanyahu. Netanyahu went to Paris recently to try to get all French Jews to leave Europe and go to Israel and he was rebuffed by French Jews who said that they prefer to stay in France. So the Idea of driving all Jews out of Europe is a vicious anti-Semitic idea but it also shared by the Israeli government who would like to achieve the same goal. So we take no lessons. We don’t listen to criticism of anti-Semitism from Zionists. They are very tentative by this. But this a responsive of crisis. I mean last week, Hilary Clinton who may become the next president of US, wrote an open letter to an American billionaire Haim Saban expressing her concern at the strength of the BDS movement in America also express her deep worry that Israel was beginning to be seen around the world as an apartheid state. There are many examples of the crisis facing Israel because around the world people are beginning to see the truth and your early speaker said large numbers are on the streets in Tehran because the truth has been revealed to them. Actually, very large numbers of people around the world are suspicious of Israel an sympathetic to Palestine but that’s not reflected in the policies of our government and I think we are reaching a stated very soon, we have a tension, the dissonance between popular opinion and the pro-Israeli policies of the government would be a South Africa movement. Because our government supported South Africa Apartheid until popular opinion reached an intensity that made that impossible. I think now that is going to happen also again with the issue of the Palestine. Because the last Israeli ambassador who left Britain to go to the UN name Ron Prosor, when he left, wrote an article in a paper here saying that his relation with government was excellent but the rest of British society what he called was full of anti-Israel hatred. Well that really means people know what Israelis are up to. So right across Europe, right across Britain of course, popular opinion is only going in one way and once Israel becomes known as --- violent Apartheid State is impossible for that anyway back. So I would only add one thing the previous speaker from Tehran who spoke very well about the role of the media the corporate media in the west just to say the viewers of Press TV, the much wanted Zionists media is spectacularly unsuccessful, because year after year public opinion poll register increased hostility toward Israel. ----  ,despite the public discourse, being extremely favorable and tending to cover Israeli crimes.
