US republicans plan formal response to Lausanne talks

Despite the US president’s warning to veto new sanctions on Iran, lawmakers opposing the Lausanne mutual understanding have planned a formal response to the announcement.
Senate Republican majority leader Mitch McConnell criticized the understanding on Iran's nuclear program. He said that an interim agreement should not result in QUOTE reducing pressure on Tehran. McConnell also repeated his pledge to examine legislation proposed by hawkish Senators Bob Corker and Bob Menendez, which requires that any nuclear deal with Iran be reviewed by Congress. Republicans are critical of those parts of the framework understanding that allow Iran to keep several thousand centrifuges and to continue its research and development program.
