Some 3,500 Iranian cultural and media figures have issued a statement affirming their support for Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei amid rhetorical threats by US President Donald Trump.

The statement was released on Monday in response to Trump’s repeated threats to attack Iran and change its leadership in the wake of foreign-linked riots across the country.

The cultural and media figures described the “wise Leader” and “beloved nation” of Iran as the only obstacle to the acts of mischief of the “criminal and shameless” US president, who has targeted the Islamic Republic with threats, sanctions, and insults.

“The US president’s approach towards the Leader and the Iranian nation has sparked a wave of anger and hatred not only among Iranians but also among Muslims around the world,” they added.

“This public and widespread outrage, which is itself a manifestation of the holy unity, is a sign of the Iranian people’s solidarity against the enemy who wants war, destruction, division, and massacre in their land. Centered around the Leader, our national unity is one of the pillars of our national identity as Iranians,” they said.

They noted that national unity led to Iran's victory in last year’s Israeli-US war against the country, expressing hope that it will also be the secret to the country’s triumph in the combined war with the United States.

“Here is the land of those who broke the US's fake grandeur since World War II and … put the hostile US in its place,” they said.

Meanwhile, they strongly condemned Trump’s brazen insults to Ayatollah Khamenei and asked him to remember Iran’s legitimate and powerful attacks on the Ain al-Asad base in 2020 and the al-Udeid air base in 2025.

On January 8, 2020, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) targeted the US-run Ain al-Asad base in Iraq’s western province of Anbar with a wave of missile attacks in retaliation for the assassination of Iran’s anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

According to the Pentagon, more than 100 American forces suffered “traumatic brain injuries” during the missile strike.

On June 23, 2025, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia, as part of their retaliatory strikes against the illegal US-Israeli aggression.
