Tehran has dismissed “baseless” and “unacceptable” the Arab League statement on Abu Musa, the Greater and Lesser Tunbs in the Persian Gulf, reiterating its sovereignty over the three Iranian islands.

Tehran has condemned a joint statement from several Arab countries and Russia about Iran’s three Persian Gulf islands as an interference in its internal affairs, stressing that it will not hesitate to preserve its territorial integrity.

Iran says the three Persian Gulf islands of Abu Musa, the Greater and Lesser Tunbs are an “integral and eternal” part of its soil.
