'No talks with US'
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that negotiations with the Islamic Republic will begin on Monday, saying that Tehran is not currently holding any talks with the US. Esmaiel Baqaei said Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is heading to Iraq to participate in Arbaeen commemoration ceremonies. He said the rest of the negotiating team are also in Tehran. Baqaei said the Islamic Republic has no plans to host any country for talks or send a delegation for negotiations in the coming days. He said Iran and Oman are holding talks to provide a safe, temporary route through Hormuz Strait. The Foreign Ministry spokesman said reaching an agreement with Oman over the route is not enough for the reopening of the strait, calling for an end to US attacks on Iran. He also slammed US-Israeli attacks against the Islamic Republic, describing it as an aggression against the entire region and against the security of all countries in West Asia.
Fallout of US aggression on Iran
Britain's economy is likely to shrink in 2027 if the Strait of Hormuz does not reopen to shipping before the middle of next year. That’s according to the accountancy firm EY. It warned that an extended closure into next year would raise inflation and could push the economy into contraction. EY also predicted that if the Strait of Hormuz remains shut, UK growth this year will slow to 0.2% and that the economy will shrink 0.2 % in 2027. Iran shut down the Hormuz Strait to enemies and their allies shortly after the US and the Israeli regime launched their unprovoked aggression against the Islamic Republic on February 28.
Arba'een pilgrimage
Millions of pilgrims from across the world have gathered in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala for Arbaeen, one of the largest religious gatherings on earth, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Dressed in black, pilgrims are taking part in mourning ceremonies, religious processions and prayers honoring Imam Hussein and his companions. Many traveled hundreds of kilometers on foot, following the traditional route from the holy city of Najaf to Karbala as an expression of devotion and remembrance. This year, Arba’een falls on August 4. The event marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein on Ashura. Imam Hussein and 72 of his companions were martyred on Ashura during the Battle of Karbala standing against the tyrant of that time. Nearly 14 centuries later, this story is still very much alive as the battle between good and evil continues.
