US aggression against Iran

The Iranian Armed Forces have strongly condemned the United States’ attempt to implement its illegal maritime blockade of Iran by threatening the country’s commercial and tanker ships. The Khatam-al-Anbia Central Headquarters made the comment in a statement. It said during the past three days, the US has continued its mischievous acts and made the region insecure by threatening Iranian commercial and tanker ships in the country’s territorial waters. The headquarters warned that the US move to implement its illegal blockade is seen as an attempt to escalate war in the region. It noted that Iran's Armed Forces have proven in practice that they leave no threat or act of mischief by the United States’ terrorist army unanswered, and will give an appropriate response. The warning came after the US Central Command claimed it had redirected twelve commercial vessels in the Oman Sea, which were trying to evade Iran's blockade, disabled two ships that didn't comply, and boarded two others to ensure total compliance.

US aggression losing support

Just one in three Americans supports the war on Iran. This, according to a recent poll, which also shows most respondents believe that President Donald Trump has failed to explain his goals. The poll also showed Trump's approval rating is stuck at 37 percent. It found that 69 percent of Americans, including four in 10 Republicans, believe that Trump has not "clearly explained the goals of US military involvement in Iran,” and has offered shifting objectives for the war. The poll put the overall support for the war on Iran at below 40 percent, which is far lower than the public approval for America’s previous wars. The aggression against Iran has also pushed gasoline prices sharply higher, dealing a drastic blow to the finances of many Americans. Gas prices now average just over four dollars a gallon nationwide, up from about three dollars a gallon before the war started on February 28. The poll followed another survey by CBS News, which revealed that most Americans want the war on Iran to end now, including 83 percent of young people.

Rejecting Saudi accusations

The Islamic resistance in Iraq has firmly rejected Saudi Arabia’s latest accusations about attacking the kingdom’s oil facilities. It said such allegations prove the Saudi government’s hostility toward Iraq and its people. Iraq’s Islamic resistance said in its statement that such accusations are nothing more than an attempt to justify Saudi Arabia’s inability to respond to Yemen’s attacks on its infrastructure. It warned the Saudi government that any foolish move would be met with a harsh response, which would force them to regret what they have done. The Islamic resistance in Iraq stressed that if there were wise people in the Saudi government, they would end the unjust blockade on the Yemeni people rather than accusing others in order to justify their defeats and cover up their crimes. A senior member of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement also slammed Saudi Arabia’s accusations, saying they prove Riyadh’s confusion following Yemen’s attacks. Dhaifullah al-Shami added that Saudi accusations are aimed at mounting pressure on Iraq to disarm resistance groups.
